Do a search for the city or country you want to travel to in the search box on the front page of the site or the property page to see a list of rooms or properties avalable for booking in that city or country.
You can book any kind of property listed on the platform, ranging from Apartments, Houses, Bread & Breakfast, Vacation Rentals, Villas, Cabins, Camper/RVs, Castles, Chalets, Coaches, Condos, Earth houses, Hotels, Huts, Lofts, Tree-houses and Yurts that are listed by hosts in cities across the world.
Whenever there is a dispute between a Traveler (Guest) and a Host, Vacason's Dispute Resolution Department attempts to resolve the dispute amicably. Vacason encourages both Host and Guest to attempt to resolve any dispute amicably, by using the messaging system on the platform.
However, Guest can trigger unresolved dispute through the platform, if the property does not match the specification as indicated by the property owner (Host). Furthermore, the Guest in question must send corroborative evidence such as picture and/or video of the property.
The platform enables you to set how you will like to receive your pay. These include Paypal where available and Bank Transfers. When you accept a booking as a host, the payment for booking your property is held by Vacason.com until 24 hours after your guest’s check-in date. Thereafter, you will receive the payment in your account on the platform.
Listing your property on Vacason.com is completely free, however, the platform charges a 3% hosting fee to cover the cost of the transaction, if a traveler successfully books your property.
Communicating clearly with your guests and hosts is very essential to successful hosting on Vacason. It’s very important to let your guest knows in advance what your property looks like and what your requirements are before they book your property. Use the messaging system on the platform to send and receive messages regarding your reservations. The messaging tool can be found in the upper right corner of the site after you have logged in to your account. The messaging system enables you and your potential guests to ask questions and get answers regarding expectations. Proper communication with your guests will ensure that your guests understand you and your offering and give you good reviews after hosting.
Proper pricing of your property on Vacason is the responsibility of you as a host. It is up to you to determine the price of your space. However, we advise you to see prices of similar properties in your area or location when determining what to charge for your space.
It is also important that hosts set the availability of their properties or spaces in Calendar to ensure that guests don’t contact them when their properties or spaces are not available for reservation on the platform. To locate the availability calendar, click on My Properties on the Dashboard after you have logged in to your account. After you've finished creating your property listing, click aManage Properties and Calenda or click Edit Your Listing under Manager Properties after clcikng My Properties. Click on Always or Sometimes in Calendar, depending on your preference or avalability and set the dates therein.

Vacason.com requires prospective members of the platform to create a User account. To do this, click Sign Up in the upper right corner of the site and enter all relevant information at the prompt such as: User Name, Password, Email Address, and Security Code that appears on the screen.
The currency conversion tool can be found at the lower left corner of the site. To convert a listing currency to your local currency, click on the currency drop-down menu and select the currency to be converted. Once selected, the listing currency will show the price of the listing in the selected currency.
The platform enables traveler to post a review of their host and their stay with host on the platform. It also enables your host to post a review of the traveler and their stay after the checkout date.
The Wishlist feature for properties that can be found in the property view during property search enables travelers to save any property they like for future booking or reservation. Saved properties in Wishlists can be found under WishList after login. Wishlist feature for Experiences and Adventures can be found in Experiences and Adventures view page. Saved Experiences and Adventures Wishlist can be found under Wishlist after login.
Vacason or its payment partners may authorize traveler’s Debit or Credit card. When authorization is done on a user’s debit or credit card, a little amount of money is deducted from that user’s card to ensure that there is money on the card. The deduction is then returned to user’s account automatically, after such authorisation.
Your profile is a representative of yourself. It enables your guests to get to know you before they meet you in person. As such, upload a recent and clear picture of yourself and enter details about yourself as a host to enable your potential guests to know more about you. To do this, click on your User Name or Profile icon on the top-right corner of the site after you’ve logged in to the site. Click SETTINGS in the drop-down menu and click EDIT PROFILE, enter your name in the name fields and other information as requested; write something about yourself in the ABOUT ME field to enable your prospective guests to learn about you, as the information you provided will enable you to get bookings for your property from prospective guests. Upload a recent photograph of yourself by clicking UPLOAD PHOTO. Enter your address and your contact phone number(s) under CONTACT DETAILS. Please note that your full name, address and phone number(s) will not be revealed to your prospective guests until you have approved their booking requests.
Listing Your Property:
Listing your property on Vacason is completely free. To get started, after registration and login, click List Your Property under Hosting in the header on the top-right corner of the any page on the platform or simply log in to the platform and click List Your Property on the Dashbaord. You will be asked to enter all relevant information regarding your property listing, including title, description, price, location, amenities, photos and house rules. You can set different prices for nightly stays under Calendar. It also allows you to select the amenities and features that your property has or that you provide. Ensure your title and description of your property are accurate, clear, concise, and captivating, while maintaining true and correct reflection of your property, in order to attract potential guests and travellers to your listing.
Furthermore, you may also provide a shot list of tourist attractions that may be available around you or close to your area, such as Historical Sites, Museums, Beaches, Restaurants, Rivers, Parks, Night Clubs, Shopping Malls, Festivals, Libraries, Mountains, Hills, Lakes, Game Reserves, Zoos and other things to do or see in your for your prospective guests.
We encourage you to ensure your property is very clean before each guest’s arrival. This includes providing clean bed sheets, pillow cases, towels, washcloths, kitchen utensils etc. for your guest(s) and regularly changing linens, cleaning surfaces, wiping mirrors and emptying wastebaskets in your bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen.
Listing Social Dining, Experience and Adventure:
To list Social Dining, Experience and Adventure, simply log in to the platform and go to the Dashbaord. On the Dashboard, click My Social Dining List link for Social Dining and Post New Social Dining Experience button or click My Experiences List link for Experiences and Adventures and simply enter all the relevant information and upload pictures of your event.
Profile:
Your profile is a representative of yourself. It enables your guests to get to know you before they meet you in person. As such, upload a recent and clear picture of yourself and enter details about yourself as a host to enable your potential guests to know more about you. To do this, click on your User Name or Profile icon on the top-right corner of the site after login. Online ID Verification:
The platform is based on trust and allows you to connect your account to Social Networks such as Facebook, Google, Linkedin or Twitter for online identity verification. To do this, go to the Dashboard, if you are not already there. To get to the Dashboard, click on your Profile icon or Profile picture on the top navigation bar and highlight My Account. Once My Account is highlighted, you will find the Dashboard link on the left side of it.
Property/Space Types:
Vacason enables listing of the following properties or spaces by hosts which can be rented on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, depending on the specification of the host: Apartment, House, Boat, Bread & Breakfast, Bungalow, Cabin, Camper/RV, Castle, Cave, Chalet, Coach, Condo, Dorm, Earth house, Hotel, Hut, Island, Igloo, Lighthouse, Loft, Motor home, , Sport house, Tent, Tipi, Tree house, Van, Villa and Yurt.
Property Pictures:
We encourage all prospective hosts to upload very clear, attractive or professional pictures of their properties or spaces in their property listing. You property pictures are part of your selling point to prospective guests or travellers.
Availability Calendar:
It is also important that hosts set the availability of their properties or spaces in Calendar to ensure that guests don’t contact them when their properties or spaces are not available for reservation on the platform. To locate the calendar, click on Hosting on the upper right corner of the site after login. Click Calendar in the drop-down menu. Click on the appropriate dates and select Not Available for the dates your property will not be available for booking.
Property Pricing:

Booking:
The platform provides you and your guests all the necessary booking and reservation tools. When a guest or traveler requests a booking of your property, you have 24 hours to accept or reject the booking; otherwise the booking request will expire after 24 hours. It is important that you as the Host, respond to every booking request from your prospective guests in a timely manner, as lack of response may negatively affect you as a host.
Contacting Host:
The platform also has communication tool, which allows a Traveler to contact a host. This feature can be found after a user is logged in to the site and clicks on Host’s profile picture. Traveler can ask a host questions pertaining to the property or any kind of questions they might have before or after booking a property.
Hosting Fees:
Listing your property on Vacason is completely free, however, the platform charges a hosting fee to cover the cost of the transaction, if a traveler successfully books your property.
Host Payout:
The platform enables you to set how you will like to receive your pay. These include Paypal, and Bank Transfers. When you accept a booking as host, the payment for booking your property is held by Vacason until 48 hours after your guest’s check-in date. Thereafter, you will receive the payment in your account.
Get Verified:
Verification is very important to successful hosting: E-mail address and Phone Number verifications, Online ID Verifications such as connecting your account to Facebook, Google, Linkedin or Twitter, and Offline ID verifications such as ID Card, Driver License and Passport.
Reviews:
The platform enables hosts to write a review of their guests after their checkout dates. It equally enables the guests to write a review of the hosts regarding their stay with the hosts.
To post a review after your hosting of the guest, make sure you are logged in and go to the Dashboard, if you are not there already. On the Dashboard, you will find Booked Trips on the right pane of the screen. Click Waiting For Your Review button in pink colour. This link will take you to your booked properties where you will find the booked property you want to review. On the property, click the wheel icon on the left next to the property and click Review.
As a member of Vacason, we have provided you with Invite Friends tool on the platform to enable you to invite your friends on Social Networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, LinkedIn and Email providers such as Yahoo Mail, Gmail etc. You can utilise this tool to invite your friends to the platform and earn credit that can be used towards your next trip.
Simply click Sign Up at the top right corner of the site, fill in the required information and click Sign Up Sumbit button to get started. Once you finish signing up on the platform, go to the email address you supplied during Sign Up to locate the registration email we sent you and click the link in the email to confirm your email address.
You can then return to the platform to login to your account. After log in, go to the top right corner of the Dashboard and click the drop down menu next to your name and picture placeholder and click Edit Profile to complete your profile and upload your profile picture and other requirements inside your profile.
Once you complete your profile, you can proceed to create your home exchange listing by clicking on My Properties in the drop down menu and click Manage Properties on the left pane to create your listing, upload your property pictures, set up your availability calendar and fill in other information regarding your property and home exchange needs and click on Get Listed button on the bottom left of the page. Finally wait for your listing to be approved by Vacason.
Once your listing is approved, you will receive an email and a notification on the platform notifying you about approval.
Furthermore, you will receive email and notification whenever a traveler is interested in your property. The email will contain a link with Accept and Decline buttons. You can use the links in the email to accept or decline the request or simply log in to the platform to either approve or decline the request. After you log in to the platform to approve or decline the request, go to Dashboard, click on the drop down menu and click on Guest Reservations. Here, you will see your exchange requests. Click on a request. This will open up the request to enable you to view the name, picture and other information and message from the traveler. You will also see two buttons side by side. One will say Pre-Approve/Decline while the other one will say Send Message. Click Pre-Approve/Decline button. Pre-Approve/Decline button will take you to the screen where you will find two options: 1. Allow Guest to Book and 2. Tell The Guest Your Listing is Unavailable. Allow Guest to Book enables you to approve guest requests and Tell the Guest Your Listing is Unavailable enables you to decline the requests. The Guest/Traveler will receive an email and notification regarding your decision, depending on your choice.
If you approve the guest's request, you can communicate with the guest using the messaging system attached to the approval box. Furthermore, you can use the other option to send a message to your guest or traveler by first entering a message in the box above the the button regarding why you accepted or declined their request. Continue communication with your guest if you approve their request, until they are ready to start their trip.
Finally, the platform has a sample Exchange Agreement (optional). This is a sample agreement document regading home exchange, which you can modify to suit your need and send to your exchange partner by email to sign and retrun to you by email. Social Dining is a dining experience created by a Host (Chef, Cook or a person with cooking experience and passionate about cooking and ready to share the experience with guests and travelers) and hosted at his or her residence or an approved location, and enabling guests and travelers to book such dining experience.
To create Social Dining, you must first register as member of Vacason. To Register, click Social Dining link on the front page of the site and click Become A Host drop down menu on the top of the page. Select and click Create Social Dining link to register to become a member or click Sign Up on the top of the page and click Continue With Email link . Once you finish, go to the email that you provided during registration to view the registration email we sent you and click the link inside the email to activate your account.
Once you finish activating your account, log in to the site by clicking Create Social Dining link in the Become A Member drop down menu on the top of the page and click the Login link or simply click Login on top of the page. Once you log in with your email and password, you will see a profile image or icon with your first name on top right of the page. Click the drop down menu beside your first name and click My Social Dining List. Once you get to the page, click on Post A New New Dining Experience button and provide all the necessary information requires, including price, dates and pictures of your Social Dining experience and click Submit button at the end of the page. Once we review your Social Dining information, you will receive an email that your Social Dining experience has been approved.
